October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Breast cancer kills 113 people every day. African American women die from breast cancer 41% more often than Caucasian women. Breast cancer is the leading cause of all cancer deaths in Hispanic women. When was the last time you did a breast self-exam? When is the last time you had a mammogram? The American Cancer Society states that starting at age 40, women should have the choice to start getting annual mammograms. Susan G. Koman is dedicated to cutting the number of breast cancer deaths in half by 2026. Join the fight! Encourage every woman in your life to get a mammogram and do their self-exams! Breast cancer is #unacceptable.
